3. Lead times and availability

Lead times and availability

Typical lead time is two to four weeks. We can often accommodate bookings with one week's notice, depending on performer availability and the complexity of the show. Daytime events (11am to 4pm) on weekdays are usually easier to schedule with shorter notice than weekend evenings. Peak times are Friday to Sunday between June and September and December.

If your date is approaching and you need entertainment urgently, contact us anyway. We maintain a roster of performers available for short-notice bookings, especially for solo acts and smaller shows.

4. Dancers and performance styles

Dancers and performance styles

We book professional dancers trained in multiple styles. Common requests for private parties include contemporary and jazz dance, salsa and Latin styles, Bollywood, hip-hop, commercial pop choreography, and cabaret performance. We also book fire dancers, acrobats and aerial performers for outdoor events and larger venues with appropriate clearance space.

If you need a specific style, theme or costume, our team will source or choreograph it. For example, we arrange themed shows for milestone birthdays (1980s disco, 1960s mod, Moulin Rouge tribute), corporate anniversaries, and custom entertainment tied to your party's colour scheme or music preference. Performers are male and female, ranging from solo acts to ensembles of four or more.

For dancers for hire in London with additional options including DJs, musicians and live performers, see our full list.

5. Technical setup and venue requirements

Technical setup and venue requirements

Most private party performers need simple requirements. A solo dancer typically requires a flat performance area (floor space of 3m x 3m minimum), background music via your own sound system or ours, and a private room or corner for quick changes if needed. Multi-dancer shows need a stage (minimum height 30cm), adequate power (single 13A socket), and sufficient clearance around the stage for guest viewing.

Setup requirement Solo act Duo or trio Full stage show (4+)
Floor or stage space 3m x 3m 4m x 4m 5m x 4m raised stage
Power needed Not usually One 13A socket Two 13A sockets or portable generator
Sound system Can use yours Can use yours We bring if needed
Dressing area One room preferred One room preferred Two rooms or large space
Load-in time 15 minutes 30 minutes 45 to 60 minutes

Outdoor venues (gardens, marquees, terraces) are fine provided performers have shelter from rain and a clear, level performance area. We adapt to the space. London venues in Mayfair, Park Lane and the City often have excellent facilities already in place. Country houses and the Cotswolds venues typically need advance planning for power and stage setup.

6. Insurance, risk assessment and venue compliance

Insurance, risk assessment and venue compliance

Professional venues (hotels, event spaces, livery halls, Thames boat venues) often request proof of Public Liability Insurance (PLI). We hold full PLI insurance and will supply a certificate before the event if your venue requires it. Private home hosts typically do not need formal documentation unless they have rental or event insurance that has specific requirements.

Large shows and outdoor events may require a simple risk assessment covering stage safety, electrical safety and guest access. We complete these with you and your venue. Fire dancers and aerial performers need additional clearance and may be restricted by venue rules or building insurance, so confirm this early.

UK venues have varying noise curfews. London hotels and event spaces generally permit entertainment until 23:00 to 00:30 depending on the neighbourhood. Residential areas, the Cotswolds and country house venues typically expect quieter entertainment by 23:00, with some having 22:00 limits. Weekday events may have earlier curfews. We will check your venue's noise policy and advise on timing when we quote.

7. Pricing and quotes

Pricing and quotes

Pricing depends on the performer's experience, performance length, travel distance and whether technical equipment is needed. A solo dancer for a 30-minute set in London typically costs 200 to 500 GBP. A three-person show runs 600 to 1,500 GBP. Larger ensemble performances and full stage shows cost 1,500 to 5,000 GBP or more depending on dancer count and production. Travel outside London (Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, the Cotswolds) adds 100 to 300 GBP depending on distance.

These are guide ranges. Your final quote depends on the exact performance length, whether you provide sound and lighting, whether we supply a sound engineer, and your event date. Weekend bookings in peak season (summer and December) are typically higher. We will always quote the full cost upfront including travel, setup and any equipment hire.

Frequently asked questions

Can you arrange entertainment for a weekday afternoon party?

Yes. Daytime bookings on weekdays are often easier to schedule because fewer venues are hosting evening events. Solo acts and smaller shows can often be arranged with one or two weeks' notice. Morning and early-afternoon entertainment (11am to 3pm) is usually lower-cost because performers have availability. Confirm your preferred time with us when you contact us.

Do performers travel outside London?

We book entertainment across the UK including Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, the Cotswolds and country house venues. Travel is charged per booking based on distance from London. Manchester and Birmingham typically incur 100 to 150 GBP travel cost. Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow) and distant country estates attract 200 to 300 GBP. Confirm the exact venue postcode with us for an accurate quote.

What if our venue has no stage or power supply?

Many venues have no stage, and that is fine. Performers can work on a clear floor space indoors or outdoors. If you need a stage but do not have one, we can arrange portable staging hire through our network. This adds 150 to 400 GBP depending on size. Power can be supplied by a portable generator if your venue has no socket near the performance area. Discuss access and setup constraints when you book.

How long do performers usually perform?

Standard performance length is 20 to 30 minutes for a solo act or duo. Multi-dancer shows run 30 to 45 minutes. Some bookings request multiple sets (two 20-minute shows with a break in between) for longer events. We can also arrange "roaming" entertainment where a performer or small ensemble mingles with guests between structured performances. Discuss your preference and event length when you contact us.

Do you arrange entertainment for hen and stag parties?

Yes, we book entertainment for hen nights, stag weekends and private celebrations. We have performers experienced in party atmospheres and can provide entertainment suitable for groups wanting a lively, interactive show. If you are booking a hen or stag event, let us know the tone you want and any specific themes or music preferences.

What happens if the performer is ill or cannot attend?

We cover this by maintaining a roster of backup performers trained to cover common styles and setlists. If a performer is unwell, we notify you as soon as possible, typically at least 48 hours before your event, and offer a replacement of equal standard. Cancellations are rare. If we cannot provide a replacement, we will offer a full refund. Your booking includes our commitment to delivery.
