What a hostess does at your event
A professional hostess works on the floor of your event in a defined role. She greets and welcomes guests, manages registration desks, directs people through the space, provides information about your product or service, or simply creates a polished atmosphere. At product launches and trade shows, hostesses hand out samples, answer basic questions and collect contact details. At corporate receptions, they work coat checks, serve drinks, or circulate with trays. At private parties and weddings, they might check invitations, seat guests, or coordinate with catering staff.
The hostess you book is briefed on your event, your brand message, dress code and specific tasks before arrival. She arrives 15 to 30 minutes early, stays for the agreed shift (usually four to eight hours), and leaves on time. You do not have to manage her through the evening. If a task changes, you brief her when she arrives.
2. Types of events we staffTypes of events we staff
We book hostesses and promotional models for a wide range of event types across London and the UK.

| Wedding reception (country house or marquee) | Greeter, guide, ceremony coordination | 6 to 10 hours |
Our hostesses work venues across London (Mayfair hotels, Park Lane ballrooms, City livery halls, East London warehouses, Thames river boats) and throughout the UK (Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, the Cotswolds, country house venues and marquees). Travel outside central London adds cost and affects availability, so tell us your venue location when you enquire.
3. Booking lead times and what to tell usBooking lead times and what to tell us
For events in London, we can often book hostesses with two to three weeks notice. For popular dates (summer Saturdays, December, bank holidays), book four to eight weeks ahead. For events outside London, add two weeks to account for travel and confirm availability early.
When you contact us, have these details ready so we can give you an accurate quote and suggest the right hostess for your event.
- Event date and start time
- Venue name, town or city
- How many guests you expect
- What the hostess will do (greet, work a stand, circulate, register guests, etc.)
- Shift length (e.g. 4 hours, 6 hours, full day)
- Dress code and any uniform or branded apparel
- Any specific experience you need (e.g. languages, catering, retail background)
The more detail you give, the better match we make.
4. Costs and what affects the priceCosts and what affects the price
Hostess costs in London range from approximately 200 to 500 GBP per person for a four-hour shift, depending on the role, experience, and event type. A simpler role (greeting, general atmosphere) sits at the lower end. A high-end product model or brand ambassador role, or an event outside London, costs more.
These are guide ranges. Confirm exact pricing with a quote from us.
What affects the cost:
- Shift length. Longer shifts cost more, though day rates offer better value than hourly.
- Experience and appearance. A senior model or hostess with language skills or specific industry knowledge will cost more than an entry-level role.
- Location. Events outside central London incur travel costs and longer lead times.
- Specialist skills. Languages, sampling or catering background, trade show experience, or brand ambassador expertise add cost.
- Number of staff. Booking five or more hostesses sometimes attracts a small discount, but not always.
- Short notice. Booking with less than two weeks notice typically adds an urgent booking fee.
- Insurance and risk assessment. If your venue requires professional liability insurance or a risk assessment, this is factored into the quote.
Travel expenses (fuel, train, parking) may be added if the venue is far from London or if the hostess must travel early.
5. Insurance, risk assessments and venue requirementsInsurance, risk assessments and venue requirements
Many venues, especially hotels, corporate spaces and large events, ask for proof of professional liability insurance and a health and safety risk assessment before the event. Bella Entertainment holds public liability insurance and can provide certificates on request. We also complete risk assessments for events that require them. These are usually standard forms covering basic safety, duty of care and emergency procedures. Tell us if your venue asks for either so we can arrange it before you confirm the booking.
Some venues also enforce specific rules on noise, curfew times or restricted areas. Product sampling, if you plan it, needs approval from the venue and must comply with local licensing. Let us know any restrictions when you book so the hostess can be briefed accordingly.
For corporate events, your company may also ask for background checks or specific safeguarding measures. Tell us upfront and we will help you meet those requirements.
6. How to book hostesses and models in LondonHow to book hostesses and models in London
Booking takes five minutes. Send us your event details through our contact page or email [email protected]. Include the date, venue, town or city, guest count and what the hostess will do. We will reply within one business day with available staff profiles and a quote.
Review the profiles (photos, experience, languages, any specialist skills), confirm your choice and approve the quote. We then contact the hostess to confirm and provide her with a brief (venue details, arrival time, dress code, specific tasks, your contact number). Payment is due before the event. On the day, the hostess arrives 15 to 30 minutes early, completes the shift as agreed and departs.
If you also need dancers, musicians or other entertainment, we can coordinate that at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book a hostess?
For London events, two to three weeks is standard. For dates in summer, December or bank holidays, book four to eight weeks ahead. Events outside London need longer notice due to travel. The sooner you ask, the more choice you have and the easier it is for us to find the right match.
Can I request a specific hostess or model?
Yes. If you have worked with a hostess before or have seen a profile you like, let us know and we will try to book her. Availability varies, but we always try to honour requests if the person is free.
What if the hostess is sick or cannot attend on the day?
We always have a backup plan. If a hostess cancels, we find a replacement as quickly as possible and notify you immediately. In rare cases where we cannot find a replacement, we refund your full fee. Cancellations by you more than two weeks out are refundable. Within two weeks, a fee of 25 to 50 percent may apply depending on how close to the date it is.
Do I need to pay for the hostess's travel or meals?
Travel costs are factored into the quote if the venue is outside London. You do not need to pay for the hostess's meals separately, but offering refreshment (water, tea or a light snack) during a long shift is considerate and expected at most events. She will not expect a full meal unless the shift is eight hours or longer.
What if I need hostesses for a multi-day event or roadshow?
We can staff multi-day events. Costs may be better if you book the same hostesses for consecutive days. Tell us how many days and we will work out a rate. For roadshows with multiple locations, confirm all venue addresses upfront so we can cost travel properly.
Are your hostesses trained in product sampling or brand promotion?
Many are. If you need specific product sampling or brand ambassador training, tell us when you book. We will match you with hostesses who have retail, sampling or brand experience. Training on your specific product or brand is your responsibility, though we can brief the hostess on basic messaging before the event.
To book a hostess or promotional model, send your event date, venue, town or city and guest count through our contact page or email [email protected]. We will reply within one business day with available profiles and a quote. For private parties and special events, we can coordinate hostesses with other entertainment or catering support.
